Getting Paid

Overview

When subscribers use your MCP server, you earn 80% of their payment. mctx handles payment processing, usage tracking, and payouts automatically.

Revenue Split

For every subscription payment:

Subscriber pays:     $10.00 (example)
Platform fee (20%):   $2.00
Developer receives:   $8.00

Standard payment processing fees (~2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) are deducted from the total before the split.

Setting Up Payouts

Before your server can deploy, you need to set up payouts:

1. Go to app.mctx.ai/dev/payouts
2. Click Set Up Payouts
3. Complete the Stripe Connect onboarding
4. Enter your business and bank details
5. Return to mctx when complete

This takes about 5 minutes for individuals.

What You'll Need

Stripe will ask for:

• Personal information - Name, date of birth, address
• Business information - Business type (individual or company)
• Bank account - For receiving payouts
• Tax information - SSN or EIN for US tax reporting

Account Type

Choose between:

• Individual - If you're a sole proprietor or freelancer
• Company - If you have a registered business entity

Payout Schedule

Payouts are processed automatically:

No action required on your part - funds are deposited to your bank account on Stripe's schedule.

Account Status

After onboarding, your payout page shows your account status:

If either status shows "No", click Complete Setup to provide any missing information.

Managing Your Payouts

Once set up, you can:

• View payouts - Click Manage Payouts to open your Stripe dashboard
• Update bank account - Change payout destination in Stripe
• View tax documents - Access 1099 forms (US) in Stripe
• Track payments - See transaction history and upcoming payouts

Tax Reporting

mctx handles tax documentation:

• US developers - If you earn over $600 in a calendar year, you'll receive a 1099-K form from Stripe
• International developers - Tax reporting varies by country; check your Stripe dashboard

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my existing Stripe account?

No, mctx creates a connected Express account for you. This is separate from any personal Stripe account you may have.

What if my verification fails?

Stripe will email you with specific requirements. Common issues:

• Name mismatch with bank account
• Address verification needed
• Additional ID document required

Click Complete Setup on the payouts page to address these.

How do I update my bank account?

Click Manage Payouts to access your Stripe dashboard, where you can update banking details.

Can I receive payouts in a different currency?

Payouts are in USD. Your bank handles any currency conversion.
